⬢ Name:
⬢ Canon: If your canon has multiple names (ex.: MDZS/The Untamed), please take a moment to check and see if your canon is on the taken list already, and use the name there.
⬢ Canon Point:

⬢ History: We would prefer this to come in the form of a link or a series of links, but will accept written histories if there is nothing available.

For series with multiple routes and/or choices that can be made that effect the outcome of the game, please outline what choices were made as well.

⬢ Personality: Describe your character as best as you can. If we feel there is anything pivotal to the character that was left out, we will ask for revisions, so please try and be as thorough as possible. Be sure that the personality described is adequately reflected in your samples!

⬢ Powers: Because there is no power nerfing in the library itself by default, please list all canon powers, and outline what forms those powers take/what they can do. Feel free to link to a wiki section here as well, if that would be easier. Please note that any powers not on the application will not be accessible without a canon update, so we have something to refer to.

We do reserve the right to limit game-breaking powers, but will also work with you to give your character a reduced form of these powers, should they come up, so they won't be lost entirely.

⬢ Inventory: Please outline everything that was on your character's person at the moment they were pulled into the game. This includes weapons, armor, and anything in their pockets and/or any bags they might have been carrying. Please also describe (or link an image of) their second outfit from home, and choose two of the following three library shirts that they will find in their complimentary duffel. [1 2 3]

⬢ Sample 1: [Link] - An AC-length or longer non-network thread that showcases your character's personality. Samples may be from memes, psls, the TDM, or other games, so long as they are both accessible to the mods to read, and from within the past year.
⬢ Sample 2: [Link] - An AC-length or longer thread that showcases your character's personality. Samples may be from memes, psls, the TDM, or other games, so long as they are both accessible to the mods to read, and from within the past year. The second sample may be a network-style thread.

To apply for your character, copy the text below and paste it into a comment, filling out all necessary information. Do not link your application. You may link your application from here or from an entry on your journal on the taken list.

Character Info
⬢ Name: Felassan
⬢ Canon: Dragon Age
⬢ Canon Point: end of The Masked Empire, so post-death

⬢ History: here and luckily this is a novel so it doesn't have any of those Dragon Age Choices(tm)

⬢ Personality:
Felassan is a mystery, and he prefers it that way. He presents himself as a wandering Dalish mage, a member of some clan of elves that he's neither willing nor eager to name, because just about everything about him is dispensed on a need to know basis. Despite his secrecy and his willingness to do violence to protect it, he's generally an easygoing person, if sarcastic and prone to poking at sore spots just to get under people's skin. Broadly, he tries to keep himself distant from the goings-on around him, but as one might expect, he winds up getting involved despite his better judgment anyway. He still prefers to act as an independent agent, more or less, though by the end of the novel his purpose for doing so has changed from apathy towards the people he spends time with to the total opposite: wanting to help them, or at least the one.

The reason Felassan keeps his personal information so close to his chest is that he is a big liar, pretending to be one of the Dalish as a matter of convenience, because the Dalish are so scattered and live so differently from clan to clan that he can get away with it. He is an ancient elven mage in actuality, woken from a long magical sleep to wander around the modern world and gather intel for Fen'Harel. For much of his time in the Modern Era (or, you know, the Dragon Age), Felassan doesn't care about anything else; he has a job to do for Fen'Harel and he intends to do it, even if it takes a number of years and he gets tangled up in other things along the way. He does not, however, want anyone to know about it-- hence the Dalish "disguise," and his willingness to kill to protect the truth. When Briala, the only modern elf Felassan really cares about and respects, picks that proverbial scab enough to come close to the truth (or at least less of a lie), Felassan gives her an ultimatum: does she want his help or his truth, with the threat of immediate death if she chooses the latter. Felassan likes Briala very much; in fact, after she chooses his help, he immediately gives her a hug and willingly tromps off to help her, but he is still very much ready to drop bodies to keep his (and Fen'Harel's) secrets.

He is additionally willing to enact violence or let violence happen to other people if he deems them just too stupid to be helped. He threatens barkeeps with violence to get information without batting an eye and when Ser Michel unwittingly releases a demon that aims to kill the Dalish clan that kept it fettered, Felassan simply lets it happen, despite knowing exactly how it's going end up. He has a skewed perspective of the modern people, elves included, as humans are elf racist and the Dalish, at least, are in his own words, pompous idiots who cling to the past in all the wrong ways. He is less interested in trying to correct the behavior he witnesses actively, instead choosing to mentor and guide Briala towards making better choices on her own, instead of being told. When he asks her, Would you have listened? Would you have heard? about her opinions on the Dalish, it's telling: he could step in and educate plenty of the elves, but he simply does not. It also offends him, that the Dalish worship the ancient culture in which elves enslaved other elves, but he still doesn't make it his job to educate anybody. The vast difference between the ancient elven culture he comes from and the modern Dalish/city elves cultures is so much that he doesn't even consider the modern elves to be his people. That this disconnect exists among Felassan and other elves means that it's even more vast between him and other races, mostly humans; they all suck until proven otherwise, as far as he's concerned. He's content to mind his business and let people screw things up for themselves, with or without his helpful advice. Even in day to day occurrences, he's willing to let fights escalate to their breaking point before he steps in to suggest that maybe now isn't the time.

Generally, he's a spectator. He'll pal around with a few people, wander in and out of cities and clans and trade information, build barely-professional relationships, but he keeps himself very much outside the lives of other people. It's not a hundred percent certainty kind of thing: he meets Briala when he kills a group of humans attacking her while she's on her own, after all, and he had no reason to get involved with her. But he stays involved with her after that one incident because she interests him; people with drive, with unique perspectives and the ambition to really make a change pique his interest. Those stuck in the past or clinging to the wrong things that have no chance of improving their lives impress him far less, and as that makes up most people, he sticks to the sidelines and observes. He considers himself the slow arrow from a legend of Fen'Harel, or the thing that arrives unnoticed to achieve a goal and defeat enemies, so his tendency to keep to himself and simply watch and wait falls neatly in line with that.

Unlike his great pal Fen'Harel, Felassan does not take nearly as long to see the potential in the people around him. Despite the huge disconnect he cannot shake, he earnestly believes in Briala's mission to save the other elves from their human oppressors, to the point that he goes to his death for it. He's willing to refuse the knowledge he was tasked with getting, knowing it will mean the end of his life, to give Briala a chance. While he is not in any way the wise, grave mentor that elder Dalish mages are supposed to be (for obvious reasons), and while he is definitely a fountain of sarcastic comments and overt criticism nobody asked for, and while he doesn't even seem to take things happening around him seriously most of the time-- he still has that drop of belief in a cause in him that stops him from sinking completely into cynicism. He sees no harm, ultimately, in giving someone like Briala a chance to improve her world, and goes to his inevitable death with grace, refusing to hide and look over his shoulder for the rest of his life for his choice to support her. It's not impossible to get him on your side, it only takes a long time and a whole lot of ambition.

Overall, Felassan is an enigma wrapped in a mystery and laden with sarcastic commentary. He keeps out of the limelight and tends to treat things like one long, cosmic joke, but there's an earnest desire to guide and help in there somewhere. He'd rather give a little push in a direction than lay out the "right answer" and see what happens, because it's better to have an earnest chance than none at all. On an ordinary day he's just kind of an oddball who eats bark and drops obscure tidbits of lore like it's going out of style, not serious enough for some people and terrifying to others by virtue of being an elven mage. You could hang out with Felassan, you could talk to him for hours and have a good time, and not learn a thing about him-- and that's just the way he likes it.
⬢ Powers:
-elemental magic: Felassan's mage specialty is elemental/nature magic, meaning he cam summon the elements with various spells such as creating ice, summoning thunder/storms, manipulating rock, etc.
-somniari: Felassan is a Dreamer mage, which means he can access the Fade in his sleep, which isn't really relevant to a setting not connected to the Fade, but for the sake of explanation: it's essentially magic lucid dreaming with a degree of dimension-hopping; Dreamer mages can connect to the Fade freely in their sleep and consciously chill there
-negate magic: what it sounds like; he can cancel other magics
-shrinky staff: his staff shrinks down to pocket-sized stick... size, which is likely his own enchantment
⬢ Inventory:
-canonpoint outfit, pouches containing useless baubles and coins and such
-shrinkydink staff stick
-outfit 2 feat. a couple potions for let's say healing, another useless things (tm) pouch...
-shirts: this one & that one
