Sandalphon | Granblue Fantasy | Reserved 2/2
Sandalphon projects a certain air of self-assurance. He stands tall and speaks frankly when he gives opinions, whether it's what others want to hear or not. At times this comes across as downright prickly, but he isn't inclined to mince words, and he doesn't balk in the face of confrontation. Occasionally he makes comments about himself or his skills that suggest a certain arrogance or pride, and that he's quite assured of his own capabilities. Any goal he places before himself he pursues with a dogged determination, regardless of personal cost.
He's made a habit of standing alone and apart from others, giving off the impression that he doesn't view himself as needing anyone. Offers of inclusion tend to result in a stiff, reflexive suspicion. Sandalphon has maintained this aloof behavior to the point that he's kept himself holed up in his room and doesn't know who is regularly aboard the Grandcypher. When asked for help, he easily acquiesces and puts forth his best and earnest efforts. It's clear that he's perfectly willing to assist others, and yet his befuddlement over anyone wanting anything from him is clear.
When faced with setbacks or surprises, Sandalphon's first response is usually flustered shows of anger. This comes across as his effort at a strong front, endeavoring not to display weakness. What he really achieves is a show of his deeply emotional nature. At the same time that he expresses a preference for logic and reason, he's driven by the strength of his own sentiments. Perhaps due to this conflict, Sandalphon struggles to express his emotions openly and honestly, opting toward obfuscation even when others can clearly read him.
Despite his best efforts to put on a strong front, it's obvious that Sandalphon has a penchant for brooding pessimism. He's inclined to believe the worst when it involves himself, especially as it pertains to his personal qualities or individual worth. Perceiving what to him was a wide gap between himself and those around him served to feed Sandalphon's anxiety and self-loathing. The belief that he was alone and unwanted hardened into a certainty in his mind, and this has fueled his tendency to wall himself off. This lack of perspective is compounded by his fixation on his faults, both real and perceived, and on atoning for his past misdeeds.
This mentality has caused Sandalphon to treat his own life with a certain abandon. Unable to see the value within himself, he couldn't imagine others seeing it either. Often, he defaults to courses of action that place little if any priority on his own safety or survival. And when he finds that he had been valued all along, this line of thinking remains difficult for him to shake. At times, Sandalphon may lose sight of the fact that he can rely on others as well, and that people are there for him. He remains reckless, but now it's for the sake of his friends and his desire to protect them.
For all that he has struggled with his perceived worth, Sandalphon's true feelings toward Lucifer have never changed. From the beginning, he has regarded Lucifer with such high esteem and personal affection that he's the sun in his universe. He has called Lucifer his guiding light, and this is no exaggeration. Even when he was driven by his anger at what he thought to be an uncaring world, his actions were centered around Lucifer. Even if only to be destroyed at his hand, he wanted to be acknowledged by the person most precious to him. Lyria has more than once noted that Sandalphon loves Lucifer, and simply wanted to be close to him.
In the face of acceptance, encouragement, and trust, Sandalphon has begun to discover more within himself. Seeing clearly for the first time that others care about him, he is beginning to recognize that his individual worth had never been tethered to having a set role. Being given something he'd long ago believed was beyond his reach has proven to Sandalphon that he can be more than a pawn on the board, and that he'd been mired too deeply in his own thoughts. This realization has given him a new resolve to protect others and reach out to them.
Over time, Sandalphon has learned to love the Sky Realm just as Lucifer had. He has seen its warmth and light for itself, and this has solidified his resolve as Supreme Primarch. As he has learned to cherish the world, he is determined to protect it and those he has come to hold dear. Gradually, Sandalphon is learning to show interest in those around him, even strangers, and has come to find that he's capable of giving others both comfort and helpful advice. He carries Lucifer's memory with him always, but so too does he look to the future and to his own dreams, just as Lucifer had hoped for him.

In addition to this, it's important to note that Sandalphon is an angel, specifically a Primarch. He's a being whose body is a coalescence of his elemental power. In his case, light. This would in theory allow him to pass between tangible and intangible forms as other Primarchs have used this capability, however outside of a single instance of teleportation in 000, he hasn't shown himself to be very good at demanifesting and remanifesting over any great distance.
Due to the nature of a Primal being's physical constitution, Sandalphon is also capable of changing his size to a dramatic degree. While typically he appears the same size as a human being, and this seems to be his default, he can increase his size to the point that an airship can be small by comparison. He could, if he so chose, also alter his shape or appearance, but has never shown an interest in doing so.
Like other Primarchs, Sandalphon is immortal, neither aging nor dying, unless a weapon made from chaotic elements is wielded against him. Such a weapon must be able to disrupt causality, like that which slew Lucifer. Otherwise, Sandalphon is capable of regeneration, the speed of which varies depending on the severity of the injury. If enough damage is sustained, any Primal being will enter into a state of deep sleep for a time until they have recovered. Mild to moderate damage is regenerated relatively quickly, and Sandalphon has self-healing skills.
In contrast to other Primarchs, Sandalphon is in possession of twelve wings. Other than an angel's core, their wings are their greatest concentration of raw power. To that end, Sandalphon is particularly strong. Six wings are said to be on the level of a god. However, Sandalphon is yet inexperienced with bringing this much power to bear, and he has stated that it's taxing to use power that isn't native to himself. He has over time developed a greater mastery of water, and can take on this element's affinities as well as wield different abilities.
Additionally, Sandalphon has dabbled in using wind, though only in small measure, such as when he's preparing beverages. This does show that he's exercising these elements, and he may yet grow stronger in them with time. It's notable that while Sandalphon has little field experience as Supreme Primarch, having only held this role for a relatively short period in his long life, he is quite cunning and intelligent. He lacks the deviousness of Belial, however, and others have demonstrated an ability to read his intent. His idea of subtlety is really far from impressive.
