The Library
Nov. 17th, 2020 01:11 pm![]() Floor 1![]() ⬡ Information Desk The Information Desk will appear to be empty at all times. It will appear as though it should be staffed, though no matter how long a character waits for a staff member to appear, none will. Characters may freely come and go behind the desk, and will find the lost and found box underneath the desk itself. Mysteriously, the lost and found box will appear empty, unless whoever is looking into it has lost something. The lost and found may be utilized to pass items on to other characters, if a character is being dropped and a player wants to leave something to another. Tablets and weapons are the only things that cannot be passed on in this way. There is a basket of cute library stickers in one of the drawers. Mysteriously, they won't stick to anything except characters' personal property. ⬡ Locker Room The locker room appears small and compact, and the walls are lined with wooden lockers, all possessing a name plate, each marked with the name of the character whose key will unlock it. The room may not initially appear large enough to accommodate enough lockers for everyone, and yet somehow, as one circles the room, the one that is being looked for will always be able to be found. Keys will open only the locker which they are assigned to, though any character with the correct key can open the locker and access the contents inside, even if it has not been assigned to them. Locks, though appearing simple, will somehow always be unable to be picked, and doors cannot be opened with brute force. Lockers will appear from the outside as normal lockers, but will be able to hold seemingly any items placed into them with ease. ⬡ Mountain Gallery The Mountain Gallery is where all non-ranged weapons are stored. If it is held in-hand and swung, thrust, or twirled without firing a projectile, it will be placed on display here. Displays in both Galleries will be museum-quality, with all weapons neatly labeled with what they are and who has so generously donated them to the display. Articles which need to be disassembled to be displayed properly - like nihonto and certain firearms, for example - will be, with all pieces neatly displayed near one another. ⬡ Ocean Gallery The Ocean Gallery is where all ranged weapons are stored. If it fires a projectile, it will be placed on display here. Displays in both Galleries will be museum-quality, with all weapons neatly labeled with what they are and who has so generously donated them to the display. Articles which need to be disassembled to be displayed properly - like nihonto and certain firearms, for example - will be, with all pieces neatly displayed near one another. ⬡ Sunrise Room The Sunrise Room is a small room set up like a miniature home theater. It plays movies from all worlds 24/7 on a rotation. Requests for the next film may be made during the credits of the current one. If no requests are made, one will be selected at random. ⬡ Cafe The cafe is its own cozy little world, full of mismatched tables and chairs, some more comfortable than others. It, too, has bookshelves everywhere, though the books on these particular shelves are free to take and return as you please. The counter, like the Information Desk, is always devoid of employees, though again, characters are free to come and go as they please. On display is a rotating array of pastries, both sweet and savory, and there is an extensive selection of coffee and tea. Both at the counter and at every table is a tablet, where characters may place their orders. On the menu is all the expected, typical cafe fare, but oddly enough there is also a search bar. Type in whatever you please, and, miraculously, the next page will show exactly what you desired - in an array of options, too, for those individuals less inclined to be specific. Food and drink must remain within the cafe. All attempts to remove food or drinks from the cafe premises will result in characters being unable to cross the threshold while carrying their food items, or the mysterious disappearance of said food items if they are attempted to be thrown out the door or teleported out of the room. Behind the counter is a door which leads to an industrial kitchen, which anyone is free to use. Any necessary ingredients will be found easily where one might expect to find them. ⬡ Restrooms All restrooms on this floor contain communal showers with towels, washcloths, and sample-size hygiene products that are mysteriously replaced after each use. Floor 2![]() ⬡ Group Study Rooms All group study rooms are equipped with a large conference table, a whiteboard mounted on the wall, and what seems like one too many rolling chairs for them all to sit comfortably around the table. Mountain Floor 3![]() Ocean Floor 3![]() ⬡ Lounge Nearly the entire Oceanside third floor is comprised of a large lounge. Here, there are many more comfortable couches and chairs, in a wider range of sizes than what are spread around the rest of the library. There are also low coffee tables near many of the couches. In addition to the coffee tables, there are also tables sized such that individuals seated in the chairs can use them comfortably, with board games either already set up on these tables, or boxed neatly on shelves along the walls. There will always be at least one chess game seemingly in progress and abandoned at a table in one of the corners. Should characters make a legal move on one of these boards and abandon it, the opposing side color will make a counter move within the hour. This is the only place with which characters can interact with the library's sentience itself. Ocean Floor 4![]() ⬡ Group Study Rooms All group study rooms are equipped with a large conference table, a whiteboard mounted on the wall, and what seems like one too many rolling chairs for them all to sit comfortably around the table.
