⬢ Personality:

CONFIDENT, CALM. Tseng comes off with a calm confidence that speaks as though he is in control of everything around him. His movements are just as smooth: he walks carefully and with a purpose, he speaks in a clear, concise tone, and he doesn't stumble over his words or hesitate in his actions. This is probably due, in large part, to the extensive experience he has in various dangerous and high-stress situations. He carries himself with a certain grace and maturity that makes it seem as though he's perhaps impossible to be frazzled, and even in situations where it may seem like there is no way out, he still holds himself to a certain degree of class. Although it may seem as though his emotions are carefully hidden behind this confident exterior, he has been known to reach levels of emotional outburst if his tolerance reaches the breaking point.

CAPABLE, RELIABLE. He is capable of being a commanding, determined leader. He is very skilled at what he does, and good at managing a variety of different employees with high levels of success. He constantly functions in an environment which can be incredibly variable, with multiple high-stress situations that can appear suddenly, and yet he doesn't falter in his decision making and is the type of person that one would be grateful to have with them in a crisis. He often has to make difficult decisions or come up with tactical plans for missions, as well as maintaining the other Turks. He is the type that seems incredibly responsible, as though one could ask him for help with anything and not be let down. He also comes off as very reliable and steady.

RESILIENT, ADAPTABLE. Tseng is almost like the cockroach living under the refrigerator: no matter how much danger he comes into contact with, despite multiple injuries and fractured emotional trauma, he still makes it out of it alive somehow. He has managed to survive a myriad of difficult and dangerous situations, such as fights with villains in his canon and environmental disasters. He can endure these things, as well as the violence and other trauma he's been subjected to by the nature of his line of work. Because of this kind of exposure, Tseng can come off as slightly cool or reserved at times, as he's so used to dangerous situations that he may view them in a more tactical or logical headspace, rather than as something emotional.

DISHONEST, MANIPULATIVE. Tseng has obviously greatly benefited from his ability to both tell and get away with lies. He does not necessarily mind operating with a certain level of manipulation in order to get what he wants or needs out of others. He is incredibly talented at warping his words to make others feel a certain way, or do whatever it is he would like them to do. He doesn't expose the motivations for his behavior easily, often operating under the guise of doing what is best for the Shinra company or the world at large, so it can be very hard to figure out why he is acting the way he is, or what his ulterior motives may be. However, the burden of this ability is that he is forced to live with, and under, many of his own big lies, which can be a lonely burden to endure.

DETAIL-ORIENTED. It's easy enough to see from the outside that Tseng is a very clean cut individual. His suit is neatly tailored to fit his body, and there is nothing particularly flashy or different about it, especially compared to his underlings. His writing is also noted for being very neat and tidy. He's the type who would have a very pristine apartment, to the point of it hardly looking lived in at all. He appears to be the type who likes to have things organized, and while he's capable of dealing with chaos, he doesn't necessarily enjoy it or thrive in such a state. Rather, it would become a point of stress to clean up messes, professional or otherwise, and deal with difficulties like that, and he's the type to get annoyed that things aren't or weren't done right from the beginning.

EMOTIONAL. Although he has a steady grip on his emotions, there are times that they can get him into trouble, and at times can interfere with his work or cloud his judgement and decision making. He may risk certain things for the sake of the lives of others, especially those that he cares about. Though his job requires a certain level of ruthlessness, he does not necessarily choose the bloody route every time if there is a chance to spare lives. He believes in a certain level of balance between life and death, and feels some moral obligations to friends or those that he knows or believes to be good. As such, he can be soft-hearted for those he cares about, though it takes special circumstances for those feelings to show.

Tseng is the leader of the Turks, the investigative department within the Shinra company. They engage in various missions involving reconnaissance and espionage, kidnappings, assassinations, and also scouting for potential SOLDIER candidates. He is highly skilled at combat, especially with the use of guns. He can handle himself in a fight, although he would prefer to leave that sort of work to the other members of his team. He is capable of wielding and using materia, though he will not have any on his person outside of the Full Heal materia. He is very resourceful and good at gathering information and making connections.
